Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune) offers research programmes in different subjects listed in Statute No. 160 and in inter-disciplinary areas leading to the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
An applicant shall ordinarily work in a recognized place of research including the University Departments, Research Institutes and Affiliated Colleges recognized by the University.
Eligibility Criteria & Other Details
For admission to the Ph.D. programme in a related subject in the faculty, applicants fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible:
a) Person having a Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average(GPA).
b) Persons having passed Post-Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination Law Faculty with at least 55%.
Exemption from appearing for Online Examination:The applicant who have completed M. Phil degree from any Statutory Recognized University in a relevant subject will be exempted from the Online Entrance Examination.

Instructions for filling online application form for Ph.D. Entrance Examination
1. The application form will be available online on the website.http://www.unipune.ac.in/phdintcent
2. There is only one mode of payment available i.e. online payment through credit card or debit card only. Applicants are requested to follow the steps for online payment given
3. Applicants must fill-up the online application form and send hard copy of the Application form along with the following documents
a) Copy of attested Bachelor degree Marklist and Certificate
b) Copy of your attested Master degree Marklist and Certificate.
c) Copy of your attested Passport.
All the above documents must be attested by Ministry of Education or Indian Embassy in your country or your Country Mission i.e. your Embassy or Consulate in India.
4. The completed online application form along with the documents can be submitted by post (prefer speed post) or personally (by hand) or (through friends or relatives in India), on or before 30th May 2015 to the following address:

5. No request for changes in the information provided in the online form will be entertained.
6. Incomplete applications will be rejected without assigning any reason and no correspondence will be entertained.
7. Online registration process will be treated as complete only after receipt of Hard Copy of application form along with necessary documents.

Once the International Centre receives the hard copy of your Online Application Form along with your attested documents, and if your form is valid (with all details, attested enclosed documents, true eligibility criteria) the University Authority will approve your Application Form and the status of your Application Form will change to “Approved”. You can see your status by logging into your account with your registered Username and Password. All approved applicants will receive Online Exam Instructions (Hall Ticket) for Ph.D. Entrance Examination on 08th June 2015 on your email id. Applicants are requested to please read carefully the Online Exam Instructions (Hall Ticket) and than proceed further. The applicants who are exempted from the Online Entrance Examination will not receive the Online Exam Instructions (Hall Ticket). They have to fill the Online Application Form for Ph.D. and submit the hard copy to the International Centre, Savitribai Phule Pune University along with the necessary documents.
Exam Fees :

All International Students are required to pay a fee of Rs. 5000/- for Ph.D. Online Entrance Examination.
